Welcome to Junior Wolves Boys - 5th-8th Grades

Junior Wolves is a basketball program for players living in SouthWest Fort Collins Colorado. It is the goal of the program to have players playing together as young as possible for as many years as possible. The program is for current 5th-8th grade boys and current 4th-8th grade girls. Junior programs are not affiliated or sponsored by any area High School or school district.

Team Practices

It is our goal to have practice begin the week of September 13th or 20th. Practices will be scheduled once or twice a week in the evening. Practice days and times are determined by the coach's schedule and gym availability. Typically, we try to schedule 4th-6th graders from 6-7:30 pm and 7th-8th graders from 7:30-9 pm. Practice locations depend on gym availability from Poudre School District.

Fees for Junior Season

Fees include: league fees for both fall and winter seasons, gyms for practice once or twice a week during both seasons, coach compensation, equipment, insurance to rent gyms and administrative fee. Uniforms are priced separately as many wear their uniforms from season to season (or pass along between siblings and neighbors). Final fees will be available at tryouts.

To help in your planning it is our goal to keep junior program investments as low as possible. In 2009 we were able to reduce fees from 2008 and our goal in 2010 is to keep fees the same as 2009 or again reduce them. Fees for 5th-8th grade boys ranged from $385-$520, depending on what leagues the team played in and if additional tournaments were played.

The fee for uniforms was $50 in 2009. That is $35 for a jersey and $15 for the shorts.

Payment Options

Junior fees can be paid in full at the parent meeting or pay in three payments (first payment due at the parent meeting). RMYS accepts checks.

Boys Schedule

All boys teams will be playing in Power to Play's Fall league (two games on Sundays) at Northern Colorado gyms. For the winter season (January-March), coach will decide if the top team plays Gold Crown Foundation league which plays in Denver area OR Power to Play's winter league.

Fundraising Opportunities

RMYS is able to offer three fundraising opportunities to help families pay their junior team investment. See the dedicated Fundraisers Info webpage for more details.
